KWAME SAYKI: MATERNAL HEALTH in Ghana

Oakland University health sciences professor Kwame Sayki grew up in Ghana and is dedicated to giving back to his home. As founder of the Center for Learning and Childhood Development in Ghana, he works collaboratively with people in the communities to help mothers with young children with disabilities.

Ali Woerner: Take Root Dance

OU associate professor of dance, Ali Woerner, has developed a number of programs that use movement for both physical and mental wellness. One such program is Soulful Steps, a partnership with Gilda’s Club that offers dance classes to cancer patients and survivors, bringing joyful movement and community connections to those who need it most.

Huirong Fu: Cybersecurity

Oakland University computer science and cybersecurity professor Huirong Fu is proud to be helping create a safer digital world. Her students have received internships at several federal agencies to enhance national security, public safety and economic stability.
